Los reguladores de PH se utilizan para reducir o incrementar el pH en soluciones de nutrientes.
El pH afecta a la absorción de nutrientes y por lo tanto, se recomienda mantener el pH de las soluciones entre 5,4 y 6,0 ya que en este rango es en el que mejor se absorben los nutrientes.

El ácido cítrico es un ácido biológico que cuando se disuelve en agua, no tiene ningún valor de EC. El ácido cítrico se utiliza, entre otros, para aclarar entre cosechas el fertilizante anterior del sustrato. El ácido cítrico es también el responsable de los transportadores ADP y ATP de la planta.
El ATP y ADP (trifosfato y difosfato de adenosina) son transportadores de energía que llevan la energía a la planta.
